A couple of interesting pieces from the August 4 issue of Time Magazine on Democratic Presidential candidate Barack Obama.
In the Commentary section, Joe Klein gives us "Blowing His Top" about the ranting done recently by Republican Presidential candidate John McCain where said "Obama would rather lose a war in order to win a political campaign." Klein's view is that McCain isn't exactly being "Presidential" and also that he seems overly focused on "enemy-making".
Shortly after this piece comes "Obama's Overseas Test" about the Senator's trip to the Middle East. Throughout the article, Obama comes across as a very capable representative and potential leader of the United States. While McCain's people had been pushing for some time to have Obama visit the Middle East to try to show that he doesn't belong at the highest levels of foreign policy decision-making, Obama appears quite capable once he's actually there.
